The Marble and Whistle Nest
I waddled back through the front door carrying both my shiny whistle and that heavy silver marble! My plush tummy was dragging from so much hallway running. Right by the armchair leg sat an empty, round woven coaster. I dropped to my knees, carefully pushed the heavy silver ball right into the middle of the woven spiral, and coiled the yellow whistle cord all around it like a protective golden fence! When I blew one last tiny, sleepy puff into the whistle, it let out a soft wheeze. Resting my chin over the coaster rim, I watched my two shiny prizes gleam under the warm lamp glow.
