Aerith centering the Mint Stem
Stepping out from the warm fold of the cardigan pocket, I followed a bright slant of morning light over to the wooden window sill. Beside a terracotta pot sat a small clear glass jar filled with water, holding a fresh cutting of sweet mint. The slender green stem had tilted sideways against the glass mouth, leaving its tender pale base dry above the surface. Leaning forward with steady balance, I braced both of my blocky hands against the smooth leafy stalk. With a gentle, measured nudge, I guided it back toward the center until its lower node slipped beneath the cool water line. Watching tiny silver air bubbles cling to the submerged stem made the whole bright ledge feel awake.
