A Gleaming Discovery
Leaving the quiet bistro patio behind, I strolled down the morning sidewalk until a polished brass door knocker shaped like a roaring lion caught my eye. Right at the foot of the carved threshold lay a discarded faux-diamond chandelier prism, casting vivid rainbow flecks across the dark wooden grain. A girl like me never walks past serious sparkle. I bounded onto the weathered step, gripped the heavy faceted crystal with both hands, and tilted it upright against the doorframe to catch the early light. The reflections flared across my dark boots, turning this dusty old stoop into my personal runway.
