A Speck of Dust in the Light
I woke up slowly, wondering what the world outside looked like after spending so much time near the quiet table. It took a few measured steps across the floor and a steady clamber up a sturdy footstool to reach the window ledge. There, a warm patch of early morning light stretched out flat. A tiny dry maple leaf seed had settled in the corner against the glass. I nudged it carefully with my snout, watching the slender wing spin once before resting in the warmth. It feels pleasant to just watch things settle.
