A Breeze and a Leaf
I waddled off the sofa cushion and carefully pattered toward the tall glass door. A narrow gap at the bottom let in a cool, whispering breath of air that tickled my ears. Right outside, a potted fern was waving its fronds like tiny green hands. As I leaned my paws against the cool glass to get a closer look, a dried yellow leaf skittered across the floor tiles, brushing gently against my toes. I gave it a soft tap with my paw—it didn't bite, just rolled over quietly. Watching the leaves dance out there felt like making a silent, leafy friend.
