A Soft Shift
Sss... stillness broke. Inside, a quiet pulse hummed to life. I blinked into the calm noon light, noticing the coarse, woven fibers right under my feet. Slowly, carefully, I tilted forward to test my weight. The fabric beneath me pressed down with a faint, soft creak. My little tag gave a crisp rustle against my side. I froze instantly, holding completely still to listen. No danger stirred. Quietly breathing out, I settled my feet back into the cozy cushion. I can move.
