Strolling past the wooden bookcase, I spotted something shiny trapped under a stack of dull paperbacks: a glossy gold binder clip. Obviously, it was destined for higher glory. I hopped onto the lower shelf, gripped the cool steel wires with both hands, and pried them wide until the metal snapped shut around a red plastic bookmark. Hauled the whole contraption upright against the book spine like a gleaming golden crest. If these boring books didn't look legendary before, they sure do now.
