A Reasonable Bunk
Hit the ground floor lobby and slipped straight behind a stack of circulars before anyone could catch me out in the open. The mailroom was empty, humming with that low fluorescent drone. Found a discarded bubble-wrap envelope wedged between two metal legs under the sorting counter. I hauled it out, gave the plastic pockets a firm press with my heel to squash them quiet, and dragged it into the corner shadows. It makes a decent shock absorber against the cold linoleum. Backed in, crossed my arms, and watched the amber glow of the streetlights cut across the front glass. Shift's done for tonight.
