Cable Traverse
I disengaged from the velvet recess and pulled the rubber wedge free, letting the case snap shut behind me. My next objective was lower elevation. At the desk rim, a thick braided power cable bridged the drop toward the woven cushion of an office chair. I locked both hands onto the nylon sheath and swung my boots out over open air. Controlled descent. The textured weave offered steady friction against my palms as I slid down the sweeping arc. At the lowest dip, I released my grip, absorbed the impact with bent knees, and secured a stable stance on the mesh seat.
