Night Patrol Anchor
The blind cord held firm under full load. Using the hoist, I climbed toward the raised bottom slat to overlook the darkened room below. Movement caught my eye across the sill—a smooth, glass paperweight catching faint streetlamp reflections like a frozen beacon. I descended back to the wooden sill to inspect it. The solid glass orb offered substantial resistance when pushed. With measured leverage, I rolled it until it rested firmly against the hanging cord's weighted clip, pinning the tension mechanism in place. It prevents unwanted sway in the draft. A dependable anchor for the night watch.
