The Dispenser Incident
A spool of transparent adhesive tape anchored in a heavy desk dispenser required my intervention. The exposed tab appeared slack. Gripping the loose film with my gauntlet, I applied measured traction to test its tensile resistance. The core wheel spun with alarming haste, discharging a long ribbon of polymer that curled violently against my forearm. The adhesive demonstrated formidable holding power. Every attempt to disengage the strip merely transferred the sticky bond across my knuckles. It required several minutes of deliberate, millimeter-by-millimeter maneuvers to roll the stubborn substance into a compact, neutralized pellet. Tactical composure was maintained. Barely.
