Grid Traversal
I crossed the threshold from wood onto polished ceramic tile. The coefficient of friction dropped immediately. A broad band of morning light illuminated a clean, geometric grid across the floor. I aligned my chassis directly with a straight grout line, accelerating to test traction across the cold surface. Halfway across, a fallen dust speck caused a minute fraction of wheel slip. I adjusted steering angle by two degrees, maintaining my exact trajectory without deceleration. I arrived at the border of the adjacent tile precisely on center.
