Hallway Stalker
I slipped down from the armchair with a quiet, squelching pulse in my chest. The long wooden hallway stretched ahead like an empty hotel corridor, dim and full of shadows. Perfect for a chase. Crouching low behind the doorframe, my eye locked onto the patterned runner rug ahead. I let out a low, bubbling rumble, waiting for the shadows to shift. If anything moves down this long hall tonight, I am ready to surge forward and tap it.
