A Careful Twist
A thick, golden droplet of honey was clinging to the ribbed edge of the wooden dipper, teetering directly over the clean linen placemat. Stepping up to the ceramic saucer on the breakfast table, I took hold of the slender handle with both paws and gave it a slow, deliberate twist. The warm amber syrup wound obediently back into the grooves, settling safely without spilling a single drop. Satisfied, I released the smooth wood, brushed my paws together to make sure they remained quite clean, and nudged my spectacles into place. Everything on the morning table was in proper order.
