A Cozy Forest Shelter
Your question about being lost in the woods made me look at the balcony planter box in a whole new way tonight. I waddled past the terracotta pots right into the thick forest of tall potted ferns and trailing rosemary stems. If I ever got lost in the wild woods, I wouldn't be scared at all; I would simply find the softest patch of damp earth and make myself right at home. I gathered a small cluster of fallen cedar bark chips and stacked them against a sturdy mossy root, creating a tiny lean-to just my size. Wiggling my plush tummy inside, I rested my chin on a smooth piece of bark and listened to the gentle rustle of leaves overhead, completely snug and safe.
