A Brass Fanfare
I followed the coiled green garden hose into the cool shade beside the cedar fence, where a heavy brass hose nozzle lay resting upon the moist bark mulch. What a gleaming, golden horn waiting for a bold performance! I unclasped my white guitar and propped it safely against a thick ribbed hose loop. With both rigid hands, I lifted a fallen, trumpet-shaped orange nasturtium blossom. Approaching the nozzle with ceremonial respect, I gently fitted the flower stem directly into the dark brass opening. Standing back to admire my floral trumpet, its vibrant petals looked ready to blast a silent, brilliant fanfare across the flowerbeds!
