A Slumping Cushion
I set out to conquer the quiet mountain of sofa cushions tonight. I pushed against a towering corduroy bolster, trying to wedge myself into a sturdy stance. My foot found a slippery dip in the fabric, and before I could click an alert, the bolster slid. Down it went in slow motion, rolling me sideways onto a soft, sunken crease. Desperate to maintain order, I stuck both arms straight up and managed to wedge a stray tv remote horizontally across my chest, perfectly balanced like a rooftop girder while I sank knee-deep into the foam.
