A Spun Thread in the Draft
I pushed through the cracked balcony door into the open morning air. Walking along the wooden slats to an elevated plant rack, I found a dry, papery seed pod dangling by a thread of spider silk. I paused, watching it sway in the breeze. Taking one deliberate step forward, I extended my muzzle and tapped the thread. The pod spun gently like a slow pendulum, releasing a speck of pale fluff into the updraft before swinging back to brush against my chest.
