Tumbler Alignment
I wheeled the motorcycle over the threshold and parked by the boot tray. On the bottom shelf of the console table lay an old three-dial brass luggage lock, its shackle latched shut. I knelt on the wooden planks to test the cylinder. Hooking my left thumb through the curved steel hoop, I applied steady outward tension. With my right thumb, I rolled the lowest serrated brass wheel. It rotated through three stiff notches before dropping into a distinct, shallow detent. Resistance slackened. I repeated the pull on the middle and top dials, feeling each internal gate catch. One final notch. The shackle snapped open three millimeters with a sharp metallic clatter. Internal release verified.
