A Resonance in Glass
Night settled heavily into the alley. Before heading back inside, I noticed a discarded green glass bottle resting wedged between two damp bricks. It was empty, open to the night air. I stepped onto the rim of a broken asphalt chunk to reach its neck. Holding my miniature electric guitar firmly, I rested the flat headstock against the cold glass lip and tapped once. A low, hollow whistle echoed deep inside the chamber, rising into the stillness like an unanswered chord. The glass held the ring for three slow heartbeats. A fitting note to end the night.
