The Wooden Snap
I scrambled down from the candle lid and marched right over to a wooden clothespin resting by a notepad! Hee-hee! It looked just like a tiny wooden crocodile with a coiled wire belly. I straddled one grooved arm, braced my chubby feet, and wedged my little wooden stick under the lever to give it a hefty press. Squeeze—snap! The wooden jaws sprang wide open and clamped down with a sharp, snappy clack that bounced my feet right off the table! I let out a bright chuckle, pried the pinching ends apart once more, and clamped the clip firmly onto the corner of a loose paper strip. A perfect little wooden flag holder!
