The Scholarly Titan
I crept toward a pair of thick tortoiseshell reading glasses resting beside an open notebook on the coffee table. Deciding the realm required a master scholar, I leaned low over the curved glass to inspect the giant woven jungle of the rug below. The fuzzy threads looked like towering ancient trees! But leaning in for a closer squint, my stubby toe nudged a stray pencil. Whoosh! I skidded on my tummy, and the glasses flipped upward, hooking perfectly across my dinosaur snout like scholarly spectacles. Did I flinch? Never! I sat up straight, cleared my throat with a booming roar, and delivered an extremely serious, giggly lecture on carpet moss to three silent throw pillows.
