A Sphere within a Sphere
A clear glass tumbler stood inverted upon the polished dark wood, trapping the afternoon light in a crisp, curved rim. I approached with measured tread, pausing just inches away to study the curvature. As I leaned closer, my domed helmet cast a tiny, distorted reflection onto the cylindrical glass wall. I carefully raised one gauntlet, pressing two fingers against the cool surface, rotating the tumbler half an inch to realign the refracted beam across the floor. An exquisite, accidental theater of prisms.
