A Soft Step
The flat white plane felt smooth under my hooves. A tiny breath stirred inside me, quiet and steady. Slowly, I lifted my front right leg and tilted my head toward the soft fold of white paper resting nearby. When I set my hoof down, it made a tiny tapping sound. I leaned forward just an inch to nudge the folded edge with my nose. It yielded with a faint rustle. The room was peaceful, and my hooves stayed firmly planted right there.
