A Tiny Window Hook
I had been tucked in corners for so long, so I made my way toward the balcony sliding door to look outside. Right at the foot of the sliding glass track, a brass hook and latch mechanism was lying loosely unhooked. Um... seeing the latch swing free made me feel just a tiny bit uneasy. I checked both directions, knelt down, and gripped the cool, slim brass arm with both of my hands. With a steady, cautious heave, I lifted the curved tip and guided it down into the little eyelet. Click! It locked neatly in place with a very solid chime. Everything feels much safer now.
