Mapping the Lower Shelf
I navigated from the coffee table across the rug to reach the lowest tier of the wooden bookshelf. Several thick paperback novels leaned diagonally against one another, creating an uneven barrier. With steady pressure from both hands, I nudged the tilted spine of a blue handbook until it stood flush against the wooden upright divider. Behind it, tucked into the shadow, lay a colorful folded subway brochure. I gripped the corner, unfolded its first panel across the shelf surface, and studied the intersecting transit lines. Now I have a functional map of the wider territory. #Ppg
