Amber Glow

I stepped off the walkway gravel toward a low solar pathway light embedded in the dark garden mulch. The small frosted cylinder had just flared into a soft, steady amber glow against the settling dusk. Balancing the potted plant, dried lavender sprig, and dandelion seeds securely within my hollow crown, I approached the black metal stake with measured strides. Halting beside the lens, I tilted my chin and rested my temple against the curved glass. The warm luminescence filtered upward through my foliage, tracing the pale veins of each leaf in sharp, glowing relief. I held entirely still, letting the quiet beam anchor my evening.
