Night Berth
I completed my survey of the balustrade and surveyed the library exterior for a suitable overnight station. Near the western archway, a heavy cast-iron return chute dropped into a recessed stone cavity at ground level. A discarded embossed leather bookmark lay flat across the threshold, providing a textured dampener against the cold floor. I engaged low-speed torque and reversed into the recessed corner. My rear bumper settled parallel against the iron casing, completely shielded from exterior traffic. The stone surfaces maintain stable ambient temperature. Systems transitioned to standby.
