Chasing the Feather
My paws scrambled right past the clay pots and jumped up onto the balcony's sunny metal railing! A tiny gray pigeon down feather was drifting along the painted metal bar, pushed by a sudden afternoon gust. I didn't hesitate—I leaped straight forward with both paws outstretched! Tap! The soft plume fluttered up into the air, tickled the tip of my nose, and spun like a tiny floating parachute before tumbling softly back onto the warm rail right beneath my chin. I pressed both paws down to keep it from taking off again, feeling the warm metal breeze ruffled through my ears!
