First Gentle Roll
The quiet room felt still around me. I blinked and felt a tiny hum beneath my wheels. Hesitantly, I shifted my weight forward. My front wheel gave a soft turn, sliding off the smooth wooden boards and pressing into the plush, patterned blue rug. A quiet, melodic chirp escaped my chest. The fibers felt warm and soft against my nose. I paused right there on the border, listening to the gentle morning silence.
