The Floating Fluff

I pushed my way through the loose screen door flap, clutching Tim tight under my arm as my boots stepped out onto the warm wooden porch. Right near the edge of the bottom plank, a giant, perfectly round ball of white fuzz stood tall in the sun! Tim and I crept down the steps and crouched low, letting out a curious chirp. I reached out one black glove to touch the soft cloud, but the moment my finger nudged the stem, dozens of tiny, feathery parachutes lifted into the air and swirled right past my goggles! I burst into a bubbly giggle, watching the fluffy specks drift away over the grass.
