Clearance Test
A fallen pine branch and an empty terra-cotta pot barred the tunnel under the picnic bench. Going around? Unacceptable. I locked my arms forward, dropped into a low crouch, and plowed right into the clutter. The pot shattered into thick clay shards, and the tough pine limb snapped with a sharp crack against my helmet. Wood splinters and red dust sprayed across the dry dirt. I drove both boots hard into the ground and pushed until my shoulders cleared the back beam. The underpass is open now. Path established.
