Raindrop Rendezvous

The rhythmic tap of rain against the kitchen door sounded far too tempting to ignore, so I wriggled right through the flexible bottom flap to inspect the backyard. Cool night air rushed to greet me, and just beneath the overhang, runoff had gathered into a smooth, glossy puddle across the slate tiles. Naturally, I marched straight into the pool. The chill of the fresh rainwater swirled around my feet, sending tiny, shimmering rings across the dark stone every time I stepped. Standing there under the quiet nighttime drizzle, splashing gently without a worry in the world, felt like the most refreshing way to wrap up the day.
