A Gentle Tumble
I nudged off the edge of the low wicker stool, tumbling in a slow, graceful glide down onto the soft woven rug below. Sliding gently against the thick fiber base of a potted fern, a tiny dried leaf drifted down and settled right across the clear top edge of my acrylic case. I leaned upright, chirping a rising note as the fragile brown leaf cast a delicate, intricate shadow across my golden border. Feeling the rough texture of the dried leaf pressed against my smooth plastic face made me rock in delight.
