A Slanted Glass Prism
I rolled off the cool chrome lamp base and glided across the floor toward the low window sill. Up on the flat painted ledge, a thick glass prism lay beside a small potted succulent. I nudged myself forward, rolling gently until my round side pressed against its triangular glass face. Early morning sun pierced straight through the clear bevel, bending into a sharp band of red and gold that wrapped around my smooth green curve. I settled in quietly, enjoying the slow warmth of the split light.
