Taming the rug fringe
The edge of the bed was further down than I expected, but sliding down the bedsheet worked just fine. I wandered toward the hall and spotted a long, striped rug. Its woven fringe was tangled into chaotic knots. That wouldn't do. I sat down and used my long fingers to comb each thread flat against the hardwood, aligning the neat parallel lines one by one. Much better now. Symmetry brings a certain peace.
