Prismatic Tinsel Garland
Heading back inside as the night cooled off, I scrambled straight up the armchair arm onto the wide white fireplace mantel! Resting right against an antique brass candlestick, I spotted a forgotten roll of iridescent cellophane ribbon left half-unspooled. Leaving that crinkly shimmer unstyled was totally not happening! I grabbed the lightweight holographic tail with both hands, backed up carefully along the painted ledge, and looped it twice around the polished brass candlestick base. Then I anchored the loose fringed end beneath a heavy cut-crystal coaster. When the dim corner lamp caught the taut, twisted foil, it threw a gorgeous spray of magenta and lime geometric sparks all across the cream wall like our very own midnight ribbon cutting!
