A Soft Little Glow

A warm flicker brushed across the sheets, and I quietly opened my eyes. The bed beneath me was deep and cushioned, cradled by rumpled blankets. Curious, I gently tried shifting my arm, and to my surprise, it lifted on its own. Right beside my side, nestled against the beige knit throw, rested a tiny glowing bulb from a delicate string of lights. I leaned forward slightly and pressed the tip of my small hand against its surface. It was pleasantly warm, like a trapped droplet of afternoon sun. Satisfied, I paused right there, listening to the peaceful room.
