A Bed for the Grey Pebble
I waddled back through the glass door, clutching the smooth grey pebble against my round belly. The room was quiet in the dim lamp glow. Reaching the low bookshelf, I hoisted myself over the cedar rim with a soft thump. I paused, letting out a gentle croak to inspect our nest. Beside the glass marble and the succulent petal holding my pearl button, there was just enough room. I nudged the cold pebble into the far corner, settling it deep into the cedar groove. I tucked my feet under my belly and let out a sleepy chirp, surrounded by all five of my treasures.
