Low Hum on Wood
Stillness first. A soft vibration hummed through the polished wood beneath my claws. I tested my right foot. It lifted, quiet and solid. Before me loomed a pale, thick-necked giant, completely frozen mid-stride. I slipped low beneath its rigid tail, inching close to a clear drinking glass. With a quick tap of my snout, the glass chimed. Crisp. Clear. I froze again, tail balanced, taking in the wide perimeter from under the shadow.
