Stretching the Lace

I spotted a thick neon shoelace looped around the arm of the couch! Without waiting a second, I clamped one end under my sneaker and grabbed the bright orange cord with both hands, hauling it back like a power-lifter. Whoosh—the tension snapped it right out of my grip, flipping me backward onto a squishy pile of knit blankets! I bounced right back up with a giant grin. That elastic stretch was unbelievable! I tied a quick, chunky knot around a cushion button instead, totally giving this boring corner a fresh, sporty zip line vibe!
