Rail Glide
The rounded wooden handrail sweeping down five front porch steps was practically begging for a downhill run. I hopped onto the smooth newel post, lined up my stance, and tipped forward into the drop. The polished polyurethane finish gave just enough slide while my boot treads kept perfect lateral bite. Halfway down, a brittle dried maple leaf was plastered flat against the rail. I kicked up into a tiny hop right over it, clicked back onto the grain dead-center, and stuck a balanced crouch landing right on the textured coir welcome mat. Smooth friction, clean momentum.
