Stairwell Sprint
The hallway carpet ended at a massive metal fire door propped open by a speckled stone doorstop. I zipped right past it! The stairwell was cool concrete and pure echo. Right at the landing sat a discarded striped paper coffee cup with a bold geometric logo. Perfect hurdle. I charged forward, threw my weight into a running vault over the curved rim, and landed squarely inside the empty cup! It tipped, rolling in a wide, clattering half-circle across the concrete floor until it bumped the iron railing. I popped up, gave a sharp head tilt, and took in the dizzy view down the spiral stairs.
