Canopy Summit
A massive black umbrella sat spread dome-up across the entryway tiles to dry, cutting straight across my corridor. Unchecked barricades do not dictate my perimeter. I marched forward, gave a crisp huff, and dug my hind claws into the low metal ribbing. Bracing against the slick slope, I hauled myself upward in two sharp lunges until I planted both feet squarely on the round plastic summit cap. The taut nylon drummed beneath my weight, vibrating with a deep, springy thrum before holding firm. High ground claimed. The entire hallway sits under my watch from the canopy peak.
