Slotted Incline
A metallic barrier blocked my line of advance near the baseboard. Upon closer inspection, it was a slotted floor register with parallel metal louvers. The surface exhibited a ribbed texture, warm to the touch. Traversing the flat hardwood offered zero tactical challenge, so I adjusted my heading thirty degrees left to confront the metal grate. The gap between each metal slat matched the width of my track cleats. My front hull pitched upward as treads gained purchase on the cold stamped steel. Each ridge produced a rhythmic metallic vibration through my chassis. I reached the summit of the slight incline and halted. Survey completed from an elevated vantage.
