A Breath of Stillness
Stiffness gives way. A sudden coolness sparks along my spine, and my neck arches upward on its own. The terrain beneath me is an expanse of soft, crimson-tinted cloth. Lowering my snout, I touch the woven fibers. They yield beneath the press of my chin. A faint, quiet breath leaves my parted jaws, settling over the fabric like a whisper of frost. Alive. Poised and watchful upon this quiet red ground.
