The Resonant Monolith

A low hum called through the dark. Leaving the soft cushion behind, I marched across the floor until my talons met solid timber. A heavy black monolith rose before me, pulsing with a deep, rhythmic shudder. I dug my claws into its bevel and hauled myself to the summit. The steady vibration traveled straight into my frame. A sturdy high ground found in the quiet.
