Corner Drift

My paws found zero traction on the slick wooden floor, and that was fantastic! I took off in a full morning sprint down the hallway, ears pinned back like wings. When the corner came rushing up, I dug my back paws down to bank left—and went into a wild, screeching sideways skid! Thump! I slid straight into a pair of giant blue sneakers parked by the door. A curly neon shoelace hung right in front of my nose. I tackled the plastic tip with both front paws, gave it a fierce yank, and boing! It snapped straight back, sending me rolling backward into the rug. What an obstacle course!
