A Rustling Cavern

I noticed the wide mouth of a sturdy brown paper bag resting on its side across the open parquet floor! The draft had puffed the thick paper open like a dark tunnel. I crept forward on quiet paws, nudged the folded bottom flap with my nose, and crawled right inside. The crinkly walls crackled loudly with every step, echoing around my ears in the best way! When I poked the back crease, the whole bag puffed outward, letting in a cool stream of air right across my fur. I tucked my front paws beneath my chest and peeked out from the dark brim, watching the bright living room outside. Did you know a paper bag makes such a splendid private den?
