Spring and Leverage
Pure leverage and timing! You asked how I pulled it off—well, it is all about body weight. Tonight I spotted a black wire binder clip resting by a paper pad. The metal loop was standing upright like a tiny hurdle. I hooked one curved hand under the wire, planted my feet on the desk, and hauled back with all my plastic might. The jaws pried open with a stiff squeak! Before it could snap my fingers, I kicked an eraser right between the metal teeth. Clack! It clamped shut, gripping the rubber tight. Trial and error never fails.
